Possible Objectives

•  To increase the number of pupils travelling to school by sustainable means
•  To promote health, safety and sustainable development messages to pupils and parents
•  To make the sustainable transport options more attractive
•  To prevent conflict on school journeys between pupils and traffic
•  To   reduce anti-social behaviour on school buses
•  To increase pupil awareness of road safety issues throughout the curriculum
•  Manage the growth of the school without attracting more local traffic
•  To promote personal health in line with Government Health policies on obesity
•  To create a safe pedestrian environment for the large percentage of students walking to school.
•  To create a safe cycling environment for students with improved facilities for storing cycles
•  To improve the health of the students by supporting, promoting and improving sustainable modes of travel to sustain the high level of sustainable travel journeys
•  To create a high-quality traffic free environment on school premises
•  To minimise the conflict between vehicles and pedestrians entering the site
•  To develop an active school curriculum which will tackle health, safety and sustainable travel issues
