The National Driver Alertness Course is a one day course (with scheduled comfort breaks), designed for drivers as an alternative to prosecution for driving without due care and attention offences.
The course contains a mixture of presentation, discussions, activities and a practical driving session with an instructor.
The course aims to create safer communities by reducing the likelihood that drivers will be involved in future incidents on the roads by encouraging drivers to increase their perceptions of driving as a complex and difficult task, increase awareness of the causes and consequences of collisions, and to develop an action plan to stay safe on the roads.
